goodbye guitar. we had a good run.

i broke my finger.
(left ring finger)
it's a very unique break... i'll spare you the details.
at first, the doctors told me it'd be a year until i could use it again.
understandably, i freaked-the-f-out.
but, when i went to the surgeon/specialist yesterday, he had better news.
the tendons are still intact.
i'm having surgery on tuesday (jan 19)
hopefully i'll regain 70-80 percent of motion in that finger.
although i'll be working hard for 90 percent.
i have 0 percent as of today.
hurts like a mofo too.
i MAY be recovered in 4 to 8 weeks.
drums, piano, and bass shouldn't be a problem soon, but it's guitar i'm most worried about.
i see a lot of classical guitar in my future (not a bad thing at all)
and as an uninsured father of 3, i'm hoping that they'll take pity on my sorry ass and wave the expensive surgery costs.

playing music is all i've known since i wad a kid.
it'll be a long road to recovery, but i'm keeping my chin up.
still working on dozens great things this year.
i'll keep you posted.
